Through her drive for service to the community, Raven has decided to pursue a seat in the Board of Elections in the St. Thomas/St. John District in the 2026 Election Cycle. Raven is running as an Independent candidate in the General Election on November 3, 2026.
Raven aims to draw on her passion for collaboration and education to bring a new voice to our Board of Elections: a voice of empathy, transparency, diligent research, and vision for the future.
Raven envisions a future for the Board of Elections that includes the following:
A community outreach strategy based in transparency around board decisions and year-round civic education that targets a diverse audience (inclusive of age, language, and reading comprehension level)
A strong code of ethics guiding the board ensuring clarity, accountability, and increasing public trust
Acts and initiatives aimed at strengthening election law; clarifying roles and responsibilities, updating old provisions, and maintaining consistency across sections
Raven also draws from her history of civic education and political research:
Raven received her Bachelor’s in Social Sciences with a minor in Psychology and a minor in political science from the University of the Virgin Islands in 2022
Raven served as a legislative researcher during the 32nd, 33rd, and 34th Legislatures of the Virgin Islands
While as a freelance writer for the VI Source, Raven conducted interviews of political candidates through their What Do the Candidates Say series
Across 3 election seasons, Raven has co-hosted the show The Fish Fry, a major civic education project carried out by local non-profit VI Crawl. Through The Fish Fry, Raven has engaged in dynamic conversations with political candidates, with the aim of sharing their platforms with the 18-30 voter demographic, and highlight the needs and concerns of that demographic
Raven served as a co-host and commentator during WTJXs 2024 Election Night coverage
The 2026 General Election is scheduled for NOVEMBER 3, 2026.
The deadline to register to vote in the General Election is OCTOBER 4, 2026.
In support of efforts to mobilize and organize community members, Raven launched "How Can I Help? VI" in 2025. The project consists of a spreadsheet tracking community advocates and community groups throughout the Virgin Islands in need of funding and support. Entries are organized by their focus and what island they are based in, and the sheet tracks their contact information, as well as any donation or volunteer links.
This project is inspired by similar support master lists being made throughout the nation, which seek to guide people on how to get more involved in their local communities about the issues they are passionate about.
The spreadsheet can be accessed here. To request a correction or that a group be added to the spreadsheet, contact Raven here.
